Regular meeting this Nov 28, 2007 will have a Program:  Representatives from the program 5 Loaves of Bread. Of course, we would like for you to be there to demonstrate to the outside speakers that we are an active organization.

Christmas Party Details... ( Let's all help Marilyn make this as easy on Lion Marilyn as possible:

Christmas Party, December 11, 2007, at the home of Lion Marilyn Morris, 123 Hickory Hill Road.  The idea behind this party is to allow more of us to become better acquainted in a relaxed atmosphere.  Come casual/relaxed.  Members cost is already covered by your dues.  Guests cost is $15. each.
Social hour at 6:00 PM
Dinner at 7:00 PM

We have hired Keith Gilliam, brother of our own Darrell Gilliam, to provide the majority of the meal.  His service is wonderful. He will bring his loaded/heated trailer to my home and bring warm food into the house as we are ready to eat.   President Jan says that his food is wonderful.
He will provide and you will have a choice, St. Louis styled ribs or lemon pepper chicken.  In addition, there will be a garden salad, scalloped potatoes, southern cooked green beans and some spicy green beans (Keith's speciality), and rolls.The club will provide iced tea, lemonade, and coffee.  If you would like other beverages, feel free to bring them with you.  We will have an area set up for beverages.

Since this will be a casual evening, we are asking for some volunteers to help with a few items.

Desert:  If you do a special desert that you would be willing to donate to a smorgasboard of deserts, please volunteer.  6-7 volunteers should be more than enough.
Appetizer:  If you have a special appetizer that you would be willing to donate for the social hour, please volunteer.  A few finger foods will be fine.
Volunteer to keep the stock organized in the beverage area with ice cups, napkins, etc.  The volunteer needs to provide a cooler with two/three bags of ice. (cost of the ice reimbursed by the club)
Volunteer to provide a cooler and two bags of ice(cost of ice reimbursed by the club) in the kitchen for the tea and lemonade.  Clean up at the end of the evening.
Volunteers to assist with moving some tables and chairs to the Morris home so that the meal can be a sit down.  Then the actual set up shortly before 7:00 PM.  See Cathy Walker or Ernie Parsons for more information.

Reservations, we must have, especially for your meat choice. You can sign up at the next two meetings or send me an e-mail.
One thing we need to know for the ribs is whether women or men are ordering ribs.  Deadline for ordering meat is Wednesday, December 5.  Please talk to others who might not get this e-mail.

Parking;
When you come to the Morris home, everyone will not be able to park in the driveway.  You may park just off of the driveways of the homes of my two neighbors (Ridings and Sue Lawrence).  Leave them space to get in and out.  We will have lights on so that you can see to get from the across the yard of my neighbors to my home.  You may also park on the road in front of the house.
