From Lion Marilyn:
Lions Leadership Conference this Friday/Saturday in Manchester. We have to have this week.
Each local club is to bring a decorated basket to be displayed and voted upon based upon value and being attractive.
Last week, Ann, Margaret, Bonnie and Marilyn talked about being able to put together in a basket demonstrating things made in Tullahoma. Well we are finding that there are not may things made in Tullahoma anynmore. So maybe we have two choice.
We could include items used in Tullahoma...We thought about the old favorites, a bottle of wine, cokes/sundrops, candy's etc, but we need something will draw attention to the Downtown Lions Club basket.
Now my thought is: Do we have any Lions members who cook or make something that could be included. Do you can green beans, make wine, make jellies, bake a cake, pie or make the nuts and bolts, a batch of cookies, fancy breakfast rolls, or some beans or relish. Do you tie fishing lures or have golf items that could be used. Maybe you make small quilts, knit something, or even photograph something unusual. Would you make a small batch that we could put in our basket on Friday morning and make it a truly Tullahoma basket.
Please think about this request and see if we could truly make a Tullahoma basket. Bring something on Wednesday or if you or your spouse would cook late Thursday or early Friday morning. Tell us Wednesday what you can provide.
Charity Dinner: We will need February 7
If something like this would work out for the Leadership conference, this could be a good idea for providing an item for when we sell tickets on the night of the dinner on February 7. Think what a wonderful feeling to be able to go home that night with some home cooked food.
